ABDUL AHAD AZAD MEMORIAL COLLEGE, BEMINA (AAAMC)

Abdul Ahad  Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar (Erstwhile Govt. Degree College Bemina, Srinagar)  was established in the year 1970 and the college started its academic operations in the year 1972. The college has the largest campus in the state, spread over an area of 283 kanals, which accommodates various blocks viz. physical sciences, bio-sciences, commerce and management studies, general administration, hostel, u-shaped structure for lecture theaters and two big academic blocks, besides the new structures funded under RUSA and PMDP which are almost ready. These include Classroom block, Social Sciences Block, Hostel Block, Canteen-Cum- Cafeteria, Administrative Block, Academic Block and Humanities Block, Meeting hall & Staff room under World Bank which are under construction. Starting with an enrollment of a handful of students, the college has grown over the years to a whopping strength of more than 5500 students in year 2019-2020, thereby emerging as one of the biggest institutions of excellence in the state.
