The JoSAA counseling process for admission to IITs, NITs, Triple IT and GFTIs will start from September 12, the day after the release of JEE Advanced results. This year, 54 thousand 477 seats of 23 IITs, 32 NITs, 26 Triple ITs and 33 GFTIs will get admission through JoSAA counseling. The complete schedule of JoSAA counseling has already been released. Know the Seat Matrix of JoSAA Counseling
The result of JEE Advanced CURRENT_YEAR exam will be declared by IIT Bombay on Sunday, September 11. All India rank of students as well as category rank will be released in the JEE Advanced results to be released. Let us inform that this year JEE Advanced exam was conducted for a total of 360 marks. In which both Paper-1 and Paper-2 were of 180 -180 marks. According to the JoSAA seat matrix, this year 16,598 seats in 23 IITs in the country will be admitted, which is 366 more than last year. Similarly, 980 seats have increased in Triple IT (IIITs) and 681 in GFTIs. Thus this year 2024 seats have increased.
Subject wise and average both cut off declared
Amit Ahuja expert of JEE examination said that according to JEE Advanced Information Bulletin, both subject wise and average cut off has already been declared for the students to be included in the merit list, which is 10 per cent subject wise for general category and 35 per cent average. And for OBC and EWS category students the subject wise is 09 percent and the average is 31.5 percent. At the same time, the subject wise for SC and ST students is 05 percent and the average is 17.5 percent. But last year the average cut off of open category is 17.50, subject wise 05 percent, OBC and AWS average 15.75 and subject wise 4.50 percent, SC and ST and physically handicapped category average cut off is 8.75 and subject wise 2.50 percent.
Last year 41,862 candidates had qualified
According to Ahuja, last year 41,862 students were qualified for counselling, of which 17,057 from the general general category; 9,150 of OBCs; 5,144 of EWS category; Sc K7,747; and 2,764 students of ST were included. This year also the cut off is likely to go down like the previous years. The main reason for this can be attributed to the increase in IIT seats as well as the number of students corresponding to the difficulty level of the paper, due to not coming in that given cut off, because the number of students in proportion to the number of seats in IITs. Qualified for counselling.
